The platform isn't given away. The currency of the platform, however, is distributed for free to people. It's a rather advanced process that depends a bit on whether you're reading this from a phone or on a computer's browser. On a phone, you would first need to extend your index finger. Place it exactly above this comment and then, without letting your finger off the screen, perform a rapid downwards movement. Dont panic if you suddenly see text changing and stuff racing by at the speed of light. This is what in tech circles is often referred to as 'a scroll back'. Dont confuse this with time travel, though. You will still be in the present time, only magically having gained access to read answers of yesteryear. On a browser, this wont work. The process here is far more complex, and often involves use of external tools. You might have been pleasantly surprise when you discovered, that the producer of your 'pointing device' had added a stress relief thingy to keep your index or middle finger occupied while clicking links in Telegram. This is a common misunderstanding, though. Scientists have recently discovered the true nature of this mysterious object and this is exactly the process you need! Place your index finger right above it and then, while pressing firmly, yet not soo hard that you break it, perform a movement where your curve your finger, moving the tip towards yourself. Again, dont be alarmed if text starts racing by. This too isn't time travelling, but will in fact reveal the equally historic event that unfolded in this channel.Ancient folklore has it, that the answer both of you seek, has been answered on numerous occasions before.TLDR: Scroll back or use Google...

Hallo, how to get airdrop?

hideho, does anybody know on which day the first weekly byteball airdrop will start?

If DAG came first but had better TPS scalability, why would someone fork it and accept the massive tps loss?

Sean
But why isn't Byteball a household name then?

Because tech first, marketing second (unlike many crypto currency projects, which are often: marketing first, period.)

Hi!! Are there some task in byteball where I could win free- bytes? Thank you everyone!!

Yes. But it's a rather advanced process that depends a bit on whether you're reading this from a phone or on a computer's browser. On a phone, you would first need to extend your index finger. I can't remember the exact fee charged by Indacoin. But I am quite sure their fee is quite a bit steeper than that of an exchange accepting purchases from Visa/MasterCard. You could find one that has a Bitcoin/USD pair and then send the BTC to one of the exchanges that has GBYTE/BTC pairs

can a byteball adress start with "E" ?

Uhm, I dont know. My first guess would be yes. But I dont know if addresses are made with a specific prefix like to segwit2 addresses for bitcoin etc.

where will the winner be announced? (first draw)

The Draw bot just announced the first winner in the weekly draws! Congratulations to the lucky winner! 🏆🎊🎉🎁

Looks like the first winner had 3500 gbytes or $105k in it. Forget winning this contest unless you're a millionaire or dev...

The lottery has been the only negative issue I have seen come up since I bought my first byte a coupe of months ago.

We ran the first donation yesterday.

In our first pilot, we have people 'on the ground' that documents the process, help us learn and improve the case.

Maybe something to look into - it is the first lesson and we should make sure that everyone working with the guide has a fast success on the first lesson :)

Punqtured
Did you attest after you linked your wallet in the draw or before?

I first signed in to the weekly Airdrop and then I succesfully did the attestation. The bot is working and has attested my account, but the points are not correct

The chickens and chicken food from the first donation in the pollopollo initiative is being picked up right this minute. That will release the funds to the farmer. Have to follow the process to learn where we can (and need to) improve.

First weekly report of the Byteball Bot War developer contest: https://steemit.com/byteball/@byteball.org/byteball-bot-war-week-1

how i can change the savepath for the wallet, i like download the complete dag, but my first hdd have only 20GB left. (i use linux)

Happy New Year!! thanks @Punqtured for the great support here. Telegram is my first point of contact. see us 2019 😉

Hi team and admins. First of all, happy new year to all of you and hope you have a great year. How do we know whether Byteball is gaining some adoption? In terms of it being used in shops etc.? Can't find any sign of real life adoption on the internet. Any partnerships? Thanks

And that was even way back then, compared to btc or other first gen crypto it was already impressive

I missed the first few rounds unfortunately 😃

The xmas one was the first and best

Hubs and witnesses are the two core elements that will potentially have a financial incentive. Witnesses from the transaction fees and hubs can in time build a model of income from being "first in line" full nodes seeing transactions a fraction of a second before everyone else, thereby making it possible for it to post a transaction of its own to reference that new transaction, thus collecting the payload part of the fee. Another income model could be to offer bot operators a high rank on the bot store, promote a certain bot through a time limited campaign etc.

You can try it out yourself, actually. If you have a wallet with only 1 incoming utxo you can try to send two transactions from it without having to wait for the first transaction's return funds to become stable.

In fact, the best is to make your witness as safe as possible by blocking incoming access to minimize the risk of getting hacked and your witness being used maliciously (eg. changing what transactions it sees first)

That's the worst copy/paste answer. Firstly, Byteball cannot see which details were provided, only if the verification resulted in success or rejection. Secondly, we cannot affect which types of ID their systems are able to verify.

If they didn't suffer any loss of Bytes, they definitely cannot seize your Bytes. They are yours - not theirs
